    The pandanus war procession or blooming-kare in Tenganan is an offering ceremony to honor the ancestors and also Lord Indra who is the God of War, who fought against Maya Denawa, a king of giant descendants who was powerful and arbitrary, who forbade his people to worship God. Religious beliefs in Tenganan are different from other Hindu religions in Bali, they do not recognize caste and believe in God Indra as the god of war and the god of all gods. In honor of Lord Indra they performed the Pandan war ceremony.

    This pandanus war ceremony, using a thorny pandan weapon that symbolizes a mace used for war, is a one-on-one war and is attended by men, both children, adults and the elderly. The pandanus war ceremony is celebrated on the 5th month of the Balinese calendar, for 2 days, each fight is short for about 1 minute and takes turns for 3 hours, even though they end up bleeding because they are stuck with pandan thorns, after the war is over they help each other together pulling pandan thorns and giving medicine in the form of betel leaf and turmeric, does not leave the impression of hostility at all.
